How did you get here? Was there an inspiring event that led you to study Ayurveda?
I was fascinated by the immense innate healing power of nature from childhood days that took me deeper into the concepts of Ayurveda and Yoga. I also have a family tradition of Ayurveda healers and practitioners that has shaped my career around this great ancient wisdom. I had the privilege to see for myself the changes Ayurveda brings to the lives of patients and that developed in me a strong conviction in this system of traditional medicine
What’s your inspiration? Passion?
Most parts of my inspiration about Ayurveda is derived from the non-judgmental way it helps me look into self and others. Knowing more about Doshas (Body-mind constitution) often gives me a deeper insight about others and helps me to take their reactions just as a play of their Doshas. This also helps me to work better towards efficient addressing of their health issues. The same applies in my day to day affairs and life at large.
What do you do and how do you do it?
In a nutshell, I start with the analysis of the Body-mind constitution (Doshas) of a person by way of an Ayurveda consultation. Once you are aware of how balanced/ imbalanced your Doshas are, it is quite important that you take up a regimen that suits you the most. Since this varies widely according to your Doshas, it is bit difficult here to elaborate on a common that fits all. An Ayurveda consultation always helps to codify your diet, activities, thinking pattern and overall life style in line with your body-mind constitution.
Here are the wellness programmes COMO Shambhala offers:

Why is it so beneficial?
Ayurveda’s main goal is to promote body-mind equilibrium and to prevent illnesses. Ayurveda therapies and medicines can be geared to address specific health problems as well. It is exactly for those who like to have an analysis of their current levels of balance and to take up some constitution- specific transformational remedies on their lifestyle, diet, treatments and activities by way of Ayurveda principles. I feel it so fantastic to be of assistance in aiding someone in transforming their health and wellness in a positive direction.
Do you have advice for people who want to learn about Ayurveda?
Ayurveda learning can be very interesting and life-transforming at the same time. It is better to start with introductory books on the philosophy and practice of Ayurveda. Such learning is focussed on the basic principles of Ayurveda that the health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the three elements, Vata Pitta & Kapha.
What are your top 5 health tips?
• Wake up naturally (mostly by the sunlight), not abruptly
• Drink a glass of warm water on empty stomach, preferably stored in a copper vessel overnight
• Self-application of Dosha- specific oil to your head and body 15 minutes before shower
• Select foods and beverages in accordance with your Dosha, season and time of the day
• Daily Dosha-specific physical activities combined with breathing techniques & meditation/prayer
